Getting Ahead Of My Self

First tonight, hats off and well done to Ian, Challenge 639 takes another step as Ian completes a 40 mile trail around Coventry. Respect mate, well done, glad you enjoyed the Cup Cakes!

So what about me, I have just completed 110km (68ish miles) in a week, that for me is a very long way. I have been to some lovely places and seen some beautiful sunrises. The Basingstoke Canal Path (I feel a challenge there, it is a 32 mile path), Boscombe Cliff Top looking over Hengisbury Head, Chewten Bunny, Highcliffe Castle, The Water Meadows...

Then I realised I have a problem this week, West Country for two days, Mums 80th Birthday, Then Kent, etc so I was worried time might be an issue in week 3. So I challenged myself to get two days ahead...

O, A and D along the canal on Saturday, and 18k today, including a lovely run around Stanpit Marsh. I now have some aches and pains, but I can still run, nice choice to have. So I made it, and I am pleased, I challenged myself, and got there, that is always rewarding!

Getting the runs in means early starts, one morning this week was frosty, I was on a long one. Over a bridge before sun up, it was like an ice rink, I went down like a sack of spuds straight on to my knee. Lucky I had tights on, but they were new, but they were more shredded than my knee!!! But is is sore, my ankle ligaments have been better and my back after the fall, well we won't go there, good old Ibuprofen!

I have now have a bit of breathing space, and am looking forward to the rest of the challenge. The 29th of April looks good, details on previous post. I have info from Iain at Action Duchenne, I have had support from everybody at the club. Please be in Yeovil for the last day if you can.

Some confirmed dates, with Dorset Doddlers on the 24th, with Ian for Run with the Devil (I mean one of Ians routes around the Devils Punch Bowl) on 21st. My daughter Kris is coming, be afraid Kris, be very afraid!!. 22nd running in Reigate with some family members and friends and tomorrow night somewhere in the West Country, who knows where???

Thanks everybody for all the support, think of Alfie and Athur, be there on the 29th.

More soon
