Hi Blog Watchers, it seems only a few days ago I went through 100km, know why? It was only a few days ago, now I am through 150km, I hit 160km this morning at the end of a beautiful run around the lanes of Somerset near Castle Cary! Great to have the choice!
YEOVIL TOWN done, I was dreading TOWN, 72km in 4 days, including the Easter Bunny, but now its done and feeling good! It may not be far for you Ultra guys out there, but it is for me! There have been some early starts and I have watched the sun rise in several places, but worth it, although the 23km for W was hard!
Day off tomorrow and just ROAD RUNNING CLUB to go, I have had fantastic support from the club, so what has happened, Easter Monday, cunning plan, 15km, so a little jog round the 5k and a slow canter around the Bunny (The Club 10k). The 5km, on plan, nice little 27mins, good. Then off on the Bunny in the rain, sent daughter further up and I started at the back. 3km plan working well, gentle jog, then I overtook a couple and race mode kicked in and plan went out of the window......
Caught Kris at 9.2 looking at watch every 30 secs, told her to ignore watch and go for it, she did and did a PB under 50mins, and to my surprise I came in at 50mins, to fast..... Great race, great organisation and great support, thank you all!!
Then 23km for W, tough call, only had time for 18.5, up before the Sun, to Boscombe Pier and back to Hengistbury then home, beautiful sunrise, see my Facebook page for pics. Then 5km+ at Cary in the evening and then this morning with rain to start and then beautiful sunrise and bright skys for an enjoyable 14km for N!
And Ian has come up with an 'Ian Run' of 14km on 21st April, for those who don't know Ian, I should be afraid, very afraid, Ian does not do flat, firm surfaces!
Over halway soon, thanks for all your support and reading this!!
