Over 250km, the end is nigh but not for DMD

Hi Bloggers, after 9 days and 170km without a break I am not running today, moving my rest day to help celebrate my Mums 80th Birthday!!! I have to say my body needs the break, having never done these sort of cumaltive distances before. I have respect for Ian, Craig and other who do ultra stuff on a regular basis.

It would be easier to say what does not ache, hurt, throb or feel weak, but it has been, so far, an amazing experience, finding out that those days when you did go out for that training run because of this, that or the other was usually just an excuse because you did not feel like it! You still have the choice and apart from yesterday, which was a hard slog, every day has been rewarding in some way or another. Great sun rises, great people, great views, amazing places you only see from your own two feet....

So 251km gone, Saturday with Ian and Kris, my daughter, for a little jaunt around the Devils Punch Bowl, Ian = Hills, Mud, Tough, Interesting, Rewarding, bring it on!!, Next Tuesday Craig (running colleague at work who has given me good advice and support) has invited me to join Dorset Doddlers on their pub run (As long as its not the Stickler course Craig!!!).

Then comes Sunday 29th, 10am the last day at

Goldenstones Pools & Leisure Centre
Brunswick Street
Yeovil
Somerset
BA20 1QZ
United Kingdom
Telephone: 01935 845888

Be there to run or just meet everyone, 3 distances, 5ish, 8ish and the full 23k (14+miles). There will be guests there and I hope a bit of a party atmosphere. Come along, there will be some cakes and information and a few smiles. If you just want to be there are the end, we should finish abetween 12 and 12:15!
